Abstract: | © 2016 Pushpa Publishing House, Allahabad, India. The most significant factors affecting the collapse of a silo structure are material stock size and internal inserts. It has been recognized that an industrial silo optimization technique is necessary for the process management of the for-profit business. Today engineers working in silo plants with numerous operational constraints are looking into an automation system for their silo design so as to achieve operational efficiency, reduced downtime as well as minimal energy consumption during the industrial process. In this study, we present a finite element analysis to deal with an optimization design of the silo base and the inserts to maximize discharge rate and minimize wall pressure on its base. |
