(Mahidol University. Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center, 2010) Sittichoke Pinvisad; Chakarg Pongurgsorn; Thyon Chentanez; Tossaporn Yimlamai
The purpose of study was to investigate the effect of oxygen supplemental (40%) in prior to exercise on apparent oxygen consumption (VO2peak) and maximal workload (Wmax), and to compare apparent oxygen consumption (VO2peak) and maximal workload... (Wmax) between normoxia (21% O2) and oxygen supplement (40% O2). Twelve healthy males, age range 18 to 23 years, were randomly assigned to maximal exercise test with vacates 2 time in each time different oxygen breathing conditions at pre-exercise period

the physiology of this Asian species. In the present study, the respiratory physiology in terms of oxygen consumption rate of the trilobite larvae of C. rotundicauda was evaluated under laboratory conditions. The trilobite larvae were exposed to different levels... of temperature (10, 20, 30 and 40 °C), salinity (10, 20, 30 and 40 ppt), pH (5, 6, 7, 8 and 9) and dark–light conditions for a period of 12 h. Effect of temperature on oxygen consumption in trilobite larvae was not so significant among all the temperatures tested

Oxygen Consumption with High-Flow Nasal Oxygen versus Mechanical Ventilation- An International Multicenter Observational Study in COVID-19 Patients (PROXY-COVID)
    (2023-05-03) Botta M.; Caritg O.; van Meenen D.M.P.; Pacheco A.; Tsonas A.M.; Mooij W.E.; Burgener A.; Hehl T.M.; Shrestha G.S.; Horn J.; Tuinman P.R.; Paulus F.; Roca O.; Schultz M.J.; Mahidol University
The COVID-19 pandemic led to local oxygen shortages worldwide. To gain a better understanding of oxygen consumption with different respiratory supportive therapies, we conducted an international multicenter observational study to determine... the precise amount of oxygen consumption with high-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) and with mechanical ventilation. A retrospective observational study was conducted in three intensive care units (ICUs) in the Netherlands and Spain. Patients were classified as HFNO

Quantifying step count and oxygen consumption with portable technology during the 2-minute walk test in people with lower limb amputation
(2021-03-02) John D. Smith; Gary Guerra; Siriraj Hospital; Texas A&M University-San Antonio
Step counts and oxygen consumption have yet to be reported during the 2-min walk test (2MWT) test in persons with lower-limb amputations (LLA). The purpose of this study was to determine step counts and oxygen consumption during the 2MWT in LLA... portable oxygen analyzer. The StepWatch on the ankle (SA) and the vivofit3 on the wrist (VW) had the least error and best accuracy of the activity monitors studied. While there were no significant differences in distance walked, oxygen consumption (VO2

minutes at 20-40% of heart rate reserve and 5 minutes at 50-60%; cool down 10 minutes). A gas analyzer and limb lead electrocardiogram were used to record oxygen consumption (V̇ O2), heart rate (HR), and dioxide production (V̇ CO2) throughout... during low-intensity exercise. A low to moderate duration ratio of 1: 1 was sufficient to return both O2 consumption and CO2 production to their stage level, but not for heart rate. Although there was a very linear relationship between V̇ O2 and heart
