Item Metadata only Natural Polyphenol Corilagin Enhances Osteogenesis and Chondrogenesis Differentiation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells: Implications for Bone and Cartilage Regeneration(2026-01-01) Kulsirirat T.; Honsawek S.; Takeda-Morishita M.; Sathirakul K.; Kulsirirat T.; Mahidol UniversityCorilagin is a hydrolyzable ellagitannin and naturally occurring polyphenolic compound widely distributed in medicinal plants. It is also present in longan (Dimocarpus longan), known as lumyai in Thailand, a subtropical fruit extensively cultivated... across China and Southeast Asia. Corilagin has been reported to exhibit strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, and anticancer activities through modulation of multiple cellular signaling pathways. However, despite these well-establishedItem Metadata only Item Metadata only Erratum: Correction: Kulsirirat et al. A high-through-put reversed phase HPLC method was developed to determine the content of these three compounds in different parts... of the longan fruit and among different cultivars. The analyses showed that there was a large variation in the contents of gallic acid, corilagin, and ellagic acid in different plant tissues and cultivars. Seed contained the highest levels of the three phenolicsPublication Metadata only In vitro antifungal activities of longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) seed extract(2012-04-01) Nuchanart Rangkadilok; Songsak Tongchusak; Rachasak Boonhok; Sansanee C. Ellagic acid inhibited Candida parapsilosis and C. neoformans more effectively than Candida krusei and also some Candida albicans clinical strains. Baidam cultivar possessed higher antifungal... activity (MIC = 500-4000 μg/ml) as it contained higher contents of ellagic acid and gallic acid than Edor (MIC = 1000-8000 μg/ml). Longan seeds are found to contain high levels of some beneficial polyphenolic compounds such as corilagin, gallic acid and ellagic acid. The present study examined the free radical scavenging activity of longan seed extract... by using three different assay methods. Longan extracts contained corilagin ranging from zero to 50.64 mg/g DW, gallic acid from 9.18 to 23.04 mg/g DW, and ellagic acid from 8.13 to 12.65 mg/g DW depending on the cultivars. Faculty of Dentistry. Department of Prosthodontics; Mahidol University. Faculty of Dentistry. Department of Oral Medicine and PeriodontologyObjective: To investigate the change of color, surface roughness and surface hardness of a PMMA denture base material after immersion in solution prepared from longan-extract granules compared with denture cleanser without longan-extract granules and distilled water. Materials and methods: Circular discs of SR Triplex Hot with 30 mm. in diameter and 3 mm. in thickness (n=10) were immersed in denture cleanser containing longan-extract granules, denture cleanser without longan-extract granules or distilled water for 10 cycles of 30 minutes. Color stability, surface roughness and hardness were measured before and after immersion in those solutions for 5th and 10th cycles by using colorimeter, profilometer and Knoop hardness tester, respectively. Split-Plot ANOVA was used for analyzing the influence of denture cleanser solutions and storage times on the surface color stability, surface roughness and hardness of PMMA denture base material at a 0.05 significant level. Results and conclusions: The type of denture cleansers and immersion cycle had no influence on the color change and surface roughness. Also the result of surface hardness test of between-subjects effects (solution) and the interaction of both effects were not significant different (p>0.05), but the tests of within-subjects effects (immersion cycle) was significant different (p<0.05). So, Knoop hardness test was not modified by any solutions but decreased over time. The values of NBS ratings which is the way color changes evaluated by the human eye showed that the color change of all specimens after immersion in all solutions at 5th and 10th cycles were çtrace to slighté.
