Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is an advanced technology that provides fundamental elements for various Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. Operation with low energy consumption is one of the requirements in designing routing protocol in WSN since each node has limited and non-renewable source of energy. In this paper, we proposed the Hybrid-ALEACH-Plus and Hybrid-ALEACH-Plus2 protocol with the main goal to increase wireless sensor network lifetime. The protocol introduces a new cluster head based routing algorithms with two cluster head selection processes that employ neighbor node threshold and ALEACH-Plus threshold as the selection criteria. We evaluated the performance of both proposed protocols by comparing with existing cluster head based routing protocols such as LEACH and ALEACH. Simulation results showed that our proposed protocols outperform the existing cluster head based routing protocols in terms of energy consumption level, the first dead node (FDN), last dead node (LDN) and amount of delivered data message.Mahidol UniversityArts and HumanitiesComputer ScienceEngineeringHybrid-ALEACH-Plus: Hybrid-advance-low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy for wireless sensor networkConference PaperSCOPUS10.1109/ECTI-NCON.2019.8692231
