The validity of test was evaluated. It was found that the sensitivity , specificity and efficiency were 79.03 % , 91.18 % and 86.59 %, respectively. The duration of positive results for Ig M and Ig G ranged from < 2 weeks to 8 weeks after onset of cough . When the ELISA was compared with the bacterial agglutination method ( BA ) , it was found that the overall diagnostic agreement between the two tests was 53.22 %. The positive results of ELISA were greater than the BA method , significantly ( P.005 ) . The titers of agglutinating antibody showed positive correlation with serum Ig G (r = +0.7) but showed negative correlation with Ig M antibody (r = -0.2). The Utility of an ELISA was introduced for laboratory confirmation of pertussis outbreaks in Chiang-Rai and Nan Provinces during May to July, 1984. It showed that the ELISA was able to diagnose in most cases from the first serum sample. It may be a valuable technique for early diagnosis of pertussis.thaไอกรนการใช้วิธีเอนซัมย์ลิงด์อิมมูโนซอบเบนท์แอสเสเพื่อยื่นยันทางห้องปฏิบัติการในผู้ป่วยที่มีอาการคล้ายโรคไอกรนThe utility of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for laboratory confirmation in pertussis-like syndrome patientsResearch Reportมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล
