Advance oxidation techniques, Fenton's reagent oxidation and ozonation, were used for pretreatment of molasses pigment solution before Chlorella saccharophila and Chlorella vulgaris cultivation. Fenton's reagent at 1:1 ratio (Fe : H2O2) was able to remove 36% and both microalgae could further remove another 30-33% of the color. Total color removal efficiency was therefore between 66 and 69%. Ozonation could removed 72% of the color after 6 hours, after which both microalgae could not further remove color and COD.Mahidol UniversityEnvironmental ScienceImprovement of colour and cod removal in molasses wastewaterby using advanced oxidation processesArticleSCOPUS
