Basically, it physically removes the superficial part of the epidermis up to the upper dermis level by various mechanical abrasion components. The wound healing that occurs creates new collagen and elastin formation that is responsible for clinical improvement. In addition, it also acts as a drug delivery system due to the exfoliation, which increases the delivery of the transdermal active ingredients of cosmeceuticals and medication. It can also be combined with other aesthetic procedures to enhance clinical results.MedicineMicrodermabrasionBook ChapterSCOPUS10.1201/9780429243769-292-s2.0-85164871469
