Using infrared techniques, it is found that the helical twisting power of the two chiral compounds investigated show an odd-even effect. This can be rationalized as the consequence of the odd-even effect in the order parameter of the nematic host phases. © 1981.Mahidol UniversityChemistryPhysics and AstronomyOdd-even effect in the helical twisting power of chiral molecules in induced cholesteric mesophasesArticleSCOPUS10.1016/0009-2614(81)80227-8
