As a result, the adaptation of the story has been produced in many forms of writing. By 1917, almost all Khun Chang-Khun Phaen adaptations were in the form of verse such as sepa, lakorn duek dam ban (a type of play influenced by the opera), lige (a Thai traditional dramatic performance), etc. After 1917, Khun Chang-Khun Phaen verses declined while prose forms including novel, prose play, abridged edition of prose and documentary enjoyed more popularity. The story has also appeared in the forms of film, television play and cartoon.thaมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลขุนช้างขุนแผนวรรณคดีไทยเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนในรูปแบบต่างๆArticleคณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล
