Vol.7, No.2 (2009), 41-501905-1387https://repository.li.mahidol.ac.th/handle/20.500.14594/1618A cross-sectional study aimed to study the patient's delay in seeking care at health care facilities among pulmonary tuberculosis patients living in Pursat Province, Cambodia, within the period of January 01-31, 2009. A sample of 179 - purposively selected respondents was interviewed by using structured questionnaires. The findings showed that the patients who delayed were 48.05 percent and mean delay were 7.04 weeks with standard deviation of 6.11. The significant association factors with patient's delay were: knowledge, perception, availability, accessibility, and source of information about tuberculosis and treatment. The results of this investigation yielded several recommendations among which were the need for expanded TB-DOTS services to a peripheral level, increase TB awareness among the general population through provision of health education and health promotion to communities especially at risk, and increase collaboration with partners and private sector.การศึกษาแบบตัดขวางนี้มุ่งศึกษาการแสวงหาการรักษาจากสถานบริการสุขภาพที่ล่าช้าของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคที่อาศัยในจังหวัดโพธิสาน ประเทศกัมพูชา ในช่วงระยะเวลา 1-31 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2552 กลุ่มตัวอย่าง 179 คน คัดเลือกด้วยวิธีเจาะจง และเก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์โดยแบบสอบถามจากการศึกษา พบว่าผู้ป่วยวัณโรคที่ล่าช้าในการแสวงหาการรักษาจากสถานบริการสุขภาพ ร้อยละ 48.05 ค่าเฉลี่ยของความล่าช้า 7.04 สัปดาห์ และค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน 6.11 นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับความล่าช้าในการแสวงหาการรักษาของผู้ป่วยวัณโรคอย่างนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ได้แก่ ความรู้เกี่ยวกับวัณโรค การรับรู้เกี่ยวกับความรุนแรงของโรควัณโรค สถานบริการสุขภาพที่หาได้ง่าย สถานบริการสุขภาพที่เข้าถึงได้ง่ายและ แหล่งข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับวัณโรคและการรักษา ผลการศึกษา สามารถสรุปเป็นข้อเสนอแนะหลายประการ ได้แก่ ควรขยายบริการ ไปสู่ระดับรอบนอก เพิ่มความตระหนักเกี่ยวกับวัณโรคในกลุ่มประชากรทั่วไปโดยวิธีการสุขศึกษาและการส่งเสริมสุขภาพในชุมชนที่เป็นกลุ่มเสี่ยงและเพิ่มความร่วมมือด้านการรักษากับพันธมิตรและภาคเอกชนengMahidol UniversityPatient's delayHealth educationPulmonary tuberculosisHealth promotionTB-DOTS-servicesOpen Access articleJournal of Public Health and DevelopmentวารสารสาธารณสุขและการพัฒนาOriginal ArticleASEAN Institute for Health Development Mahidol University
