A serial haemodynamic study was performed on one patient, before and after treatment with thiamin. The studies demonstrated pericardial effusion, which disappeared after treatment. The role of pericardial effusion as a factor producing cardiac enlargement, abnormal electrocardiogram and absence of high cardiac output is discussed.Mahidol UniversityMedicineCardiac beriberi in infants and children: clinical and haemodynamic studiesArticleSCOPUS
