Three patients had mild hyponatremia but normal serum osmolality and none had symptoms of hyponatremia; 1 patient had serum hypo osmolality but normal serum Na, and this patient sometimes had weakness in both lower limbs during chlorpropamide treatment. 15 patients had non specific symptoms of hyponatremia but laboratory data did not support the supposition that they were due to hyponatremia.
