อาชว์ภูริชญ์ น้อมเนียนสมศักดิ์ อมรสิริพงศ์Archphurich NomnanSomsak Amornsiriphongมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล. สถาบันวิจัยภาษาและวัฒนธรรมเอเชียมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล. สถาบันวิจัยภาษาและวัฒนธรรมเพื่อพัฒนาชนบท2020-05-082020-05-082563-05-082561วารสารภาษาและวัฒนธรรม. ปีที่ 37, ฉบับที่ 2 (ก.ค.- ธ.ค. 2561), 151-169https://repository.li.mahidol.ac.th/handle/20.500.14594/55084บทความฉบับนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพเพื่อประมวลองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับแนวคิดทฤษฎี ความสำคัญและที่มาของพิธีเปลี่ยนสภาวะ และเพื่อวิเคราะห์สังเคราะห์พิธีอุปนยนสังสการในสังคมฮินดู พบว่า พิธีอุปนยนสังสการในสังคมฮินดูเป็นพิธีเปลี่ยนสภาวะหนึ่งพบได้ในทุกสังคมที่มีวัฒนธรรมอาจมีลักษณะที่เกี่ยวข้องกับศาสนาและไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับศาสนา เช่น พิธีที่ไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับศาสนา ได้แก่ พิธีรับปริญญา พิธีเกษียณอายุราชการ เป็นต้น ในส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับศาสนา ได้แก่ พิธีบาร์ มิตซวาห์ (Bar Mitsvah) ในศาสนายูดายซึ่งมีความคล้ายคลึงกับพิธีศีลกำลัง (Confirmation) ในศาสนาคริสต์ และพิธีอุปนยนสังสการในศาสนาฮินดู เป็นต้น ข้อค้นพบพิธีอุปนยนสังสการพบว่าเป็นพิธีสำคัญและประกอบขึ้นมาเฉพาะเด็กผู้ชายในวรรณะพราหมณ์ (Brahmanas) กษัตริย์ (Kshatriya) และไวศยะ (Vaisyas) เท่านั้น จากนั้นจะเข้าสู่ระบบการศึกษาเล่าเรียนในคุรุกุล (Gurukula) หรือครอบครัวของครู จะถูกเรียกว่าพรหมจารี (Brahmacari) และเรียกช่วงวัยนี้ว่าพรหมจริยอาศรม (Brahmacariya ashrma) เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษาแล้วนักเรียนเหล่านี้ย่อมเกิดความรู้และมีหลักจริยธรรมในศาสนาฮินดู เป็นเครื่องดำเนินชีวิตThis qualitative study analyzes and discusses rites of passage with regard to a case study of Upanayana Samsakara in Hindu society in terms of its concepts, theories, significance, and background. Upanayana Samsakara is found in religious and non-religious sociocultural contexts. Non-religious activities include commencement day and retirement day. Religious events include Bar Mitsvah in Judaism, Confirmation in Christianity and Upanayana Samsakara in Hinduism. Upanayana Samsakara is an important ceremony, particularly for Brahmanas, Kshatriya, and Vaisyas. The Brahmacari ceremony is strictly for boys, which is called Brahmacariya ashram and Gurukula.
