In general, oncoplastic surgery can be performed by mammaplasty techniques. Knowledge and understanding of vascular supply of breast parenchyma and the nipple–areola complex is a very important key to success. When a simple mammaplasty technique cannot be used, there are other options that surgeons and patients can discuss. Prosthesis reconstruction can be performed with a low capsular contraction rate when the proper intraoperative radiotherapy protocol is used.
