The disease had acute onset in one case and seemed to be insidious in the other. The appearance of PNH red cells was far more than 'laboratory phenomenon' since the evidence of hemolysis could be clearly demonstrated in both cases. The other possibilities which may cause the transient appearance of PNH red cells in aplastic anemia cases are discussed.
