Endovascular interventions demonstrate promising clinical results and are increasingly utilized to treat severe infrapopliteal and below-the-ankle (BTA) arterial disease. Several techniques, including pedal access, transcollateral recanalization, and pedal-plantar loop procedures, have improved the success of BTA revascularization. A wire exteriorization via the wound (WE-wound) method is proposed for recanalizing the BTA lesion. The present study reports 9 cases in which the WE-wound technique was performed, achieving a 100% technical success rate and successful limb salvage.MedicineA Novel Technique for Recanalizing Below-the-Ankle Lesion in Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia: Wire Exteriorization via the WoundArticleSCOPUS10.1016/j.jvir.2026.1086872-s2.0-1050343075231535773241796857
