Artificial, a training set of the mixtures of PAR and CZX corresponding to central composite design was built to be used as calibration set for PLS and GA-PLS. Synthetic mixtures were used to verify the models. Reasonably good recoveries were obtained and it leads to 32% improvement of predictive ability for PAR and 35% for CZX, respectively. A commercial sample containing two drugs was assayed, and there was statistically no significant difference (P < 0.05) between the results with GA-PLS method and those obtain with the official method. The proposed method has been proved to be beneficial for the determination of both drugs in pharmaceutical tablets without prior extraction.Mahidol UniversityPharmacology, Toxicology and PharmaceuticsGenetic algorithms-based approach for wavelength selection in spectrophotometric determination of paracetamol and chlorzoxazone in tablet preparation by partial least-squaresArticleSCOPUS
