(Medicine))--Mahidol University, 2019https://repository.li.mahidol.ac.th/handle/20.500.14594/91706Medicine (Mahidol University 2019)Objectives: To determine the incidence and the associated factors of secondary glaucoma following pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil injection in Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. Method and Materials: The postoperative patients who underwent pars plana vitrectomy and silicone oil injection were reviewed retrospectively. The outcome of the patient who underwent silicone oil removal and/or glaucoma management was also observed. Result: The incidence of secondary glaucoma was 16.5% (31 of 190 eyes). Glaucoma was defined as sustained raise of IOP > 24mmHg or IOP increase >10mmHg from the baseline IOP. The risk factors were age (56.87 ? 17.57 year, p < 0.005), type of injected silicone oil (p < 0.028), the surgeon (p < 0.001), the combined procedure with the scleral buckle (OR: 4.25, p <0.001) and combined procedure with anterior chamber washout (OR: 23.41, p < 0.001). The final visual acuity was less absolutely poor among cases of developed secondary glaucoma. Conclusion: The incidence of secondary glaucoma after silicone oil injection was relatively common. Most of the secondary glaucoma cases were effectively managed with antiglaucoma medicine.xii, 68 leaves : ill.application/pdfengผลงานนี้เป็นลิขสิทธิ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ขอสงวนไว้สำหรับเพื่อการศึกษาเท่านั้น ต้องอ้างอิงแหล่งที่มา ห้ามดัดแปลงเนื้อหา และห้ามนำไปใช้เพื่อการค้าEye -- SurgeryGlaucoma -- SurgeryIncidence and associated factors of secondary glaucoma following silicone oil injection in Ramathibodi Hospital, ThailandMahidol University
