The International Classification of Functioning, Health and Disability-Children and Youth version (ICFCY) framework would facilitate more effective inter-professional assessment and intervention planning for children with CP. This study aimed to explore the actual charted management practices in children with CP in Central region of Thailand and compare to the current report elsewhere. Methods Retrospective study using charted data from children with CP admitted to 4 public hospitals and 2 schools in 2007-2009 were age stratified, and approximately 48% audited (n=269). Information about type of CP, assessment used and intervention provided were audited. Results Distributions of CP type were slightly different from other countries. Assessments reported were mostly subjective rather than the use of standardized assessment tools. Charted interventions mainly reflected Body Structures and Functions and Activity components of the ICF-CY. Multidisciplinary practice seems to be found in Central region of Thailand but little evidence of inter-professional practice was reported. Conclusions Using the ICF-CY framework clearly demonstrated the focus of current management practices, as well as strengths and weaknesses in actual practices for these children. Missing data and poor recordkeeping practices may have impacted on the accuracy of some data, in particular that relating to CP type. This may affect on planning for the proper management for these children. Using the ICF-CY framework could enhance holistic management for Thai children with CP.engICF-CYcerebral palsyThailandchart auditmanagementApplying the ICF-CY framework clarifies actual health management in Thai children with cerebral palsy in Central regionการใช้กรอบแนวคิด ICF-CY แสดงการจัดการสุขภาพที่เป็นจริงในเด็กไทยที่มีภาวะซีพีในภาคกลางArticleMahidol University
