Not much study fully focuses on the aesthetics reflected in this single-movement sonata. This paper offers a full instructional approach to help unravel difficult passages of the violin sonata. Chapters I and II discuss Ysaÿe’s biographic information, as well as the background of George Enescu, to whom the sonata was dedicated. Chapter III covers the methodology. Chapter IV comprises suggested etudes as prerequisites to the sonata. Finally, a pedagogical guide in Chapter 5 offers preparatory exercises, personal insights, style of playing, and helpful practice suggestions for the most puzzling sections of the third violin sonata. Chapter 6 will then conclude with Ysaÿe’s legacy and impact for violinists attempting to play his third violin sonata. This paper acts as a useful guide for violinists who may be fascinated in learning and conquering this music. IMPLICATION OF THE THEMATIC PAPER: Practice Suggestions for modern violin playing.
