This research aimed to analyze Lund's improvisation models and the models and methods with special emphasis placed on a single note Lage Lund employs in his improvisation. Special emphasis is placed on the single note. The songs chosen for the research were (1) Jazz composed by Steinar Sonk Nickelsen, (2) Celia by Bud Powell, and (3) How deep is the ocean by Irving Berlin. The findings showed that Lage Lund's improvisation could be categorized into: (1) Diatonic Harmony, the improvisation applied onto major keys, (2) Non-Diatonic Harmony, the improvisation applied onto minor keys, particularly chord V, and (3) Triadic Generalization the use of general lines from note 1, 3 and 5. The researcher applied the techniques learned from the analysis of his Master Recital, which involved Jazz Trio (Guitar, Bass, and Drum) and Jazz Quartet (Guitar, Saxophone, Bass, and Drum). The researcher concluded that both the Jazz Trio and the Jazz Quartet were a remarkable performance.
