It comprises discussion regarding two main points first, the analysis of Mulgrew Miller improvisation style from two selected tunes in the album From Day to Day, and second, the study of Miller's techniques to create the head of the song. Topics addressed in this paper contain analysis regarding these matters: Miller's style of improvisation, a relationship between melody and chord voicing, and re-harmonization techniques. The research information would be applied into the process of recital preparation as the next step.
