Serum proteins in the prealbumin and pretransferrin range, including transferrin, were determined quantitatively. The transferrin level and the levels of some alpha-l-globulin proteins were found to be significantly higher in the rural group. The role of nutritional factors in causing these differences is discussed. © 1974, Center for Academic Publications Japan.
