ผีปอบ : วาทกรรมตกค้างในยุคออนไลน์

Abstract

สังคมเป็นผลผลิตของพลังเหนือธรรมชาติโดยเชื่อว่าความเชื่อเหล่านี้เป็นองค์ประกอบ ของโครงสร้างทางสังคมของมนุษย์ในทุกสังคม เป็นอํานาจที่ใช่ควบคุมการกระทําทางสังคม ที่ส่งต่อรุ่นต่อรุ่น สังคมอีสานเป็นสังคมที่มีพัฒนาการความเชื่อเรื่องผีกับพุทธควบคู่กันมา โดยตลอด แม้สังคมได้ผ่านเข้าสู่ยุคสมัยที่เรียกว่าโลกาภิวัตน์ ที่อํานาจทุนและอํานาจการสื่อสาร ครอบคลุมไปทั้งโลก วัฒนธรรมและความเชื่อต่างๆ สามารถเผยแพร่ไปได้ทั่วโลกในเวลา เดียวกันแล้วก็ตาม บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเชื่อเรื่อง “ผีปอบ” ของชาวอีสาน ซึ่งเป็นปรากฏการณ์ความเชื่อที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องมาตั้งแต่สมัยอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน โดย ศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสารข้อมูลที่ปรากฏในสื่ออินเทอร์เน็ตและการสัมภาษณ์ผลการศึกษา พบว่า ความเชื่อเรื่องผีปอบของคนอีสานก็ยังคงมีอิทธิพลต่อชุมชนมาจนถึงยุคปัจจุบัน อย่างไรก็ตามมีความขัดแย้งทางความเชื่อระหว่างคนรุ่นเก่าและคนรุ่นใหม่ กลุ่มคนที่เชื่อส่วนใหญ่ เป็นคนรุ่นเก่า ในขณะที่คนรุ่นใหม่ตั้งคําถามกับความมีอยู่จริงของผีปอบ ทําให้อํานาจความ เชื่อแบบดั้งเดิมถูกท้าทายและเกิดคําถามตามมาว่า “ผีปอบ” จะยังคงรับใช้ชุมชนในฐานะ เครื่องมือควบคุมทางสังคมในอนาคตได้หรือไม่

Society is a p roduct of sup ernatural forces that mak e up the social structure of human beings in all societies and control social acts from generation to generation. Isan society has develop ed beliefs in Buddhism alongside animism. Even though Isan society has been introduced to globalization w here the p ow er of cap italism and mass communication has made a global village of the w orld. This article aims to study Isan p eop le’s beliefs in “Phi-p ob” (Ogre) w hich have been held from the p ast to the p resent. The data w ere gathered through document review , internet searches, and interview . The findings reveal that beliefs in ogres, “Phi-p ob”, still have an influence on Isan communities. How ever, there is a conflict betw een the younger and older generations. The beliefs in ogres stay intact among older generations, w hile the existence of “Phi-p ob” is questioned by the new generation. It is challenge that w hether “Phi-p ob” can be used as a tool of social control in the future
