Sakdapipanich; Mahidol University; Osaka University; Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of SciencesA structural study of low molecular weight rubbers from Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) and Painted spurge (Euphorbia heterophylla) was carried out as model compounds of natural rubber from Hevea brasiliensis. The rubber content of latex from Jackfruit was 0.4-0.7%, which is very low compared with that of 30-35% in the latex from Hevea tree. The rubber from Jackfruit latex was low molecular weight with narrow unimodal molecular weight distribution (MWD), whereas that obtained from E. heterophylla showed very broad MWD. The 1H and 13C NMR analyses showed that Jackfruit rubber consists of a dimethylallyl group and two trans-isoprene units connected to a long sequence of cis-isoprene units. The α-terminal group of Jackfruit rubber was presumed to be composed of a phosphate group based on the presence of 1H NMR signal at 4.08 ppm corresponding to the terminal =CH-CH2OP group. © 2004 American Chemical Society.Publication Metadata only Alkylation and pyrolysis of chloromethyl phenyl sulfoxide: A simple synthesis of vinyl clorides(1979-01-01) Vichal Reutrakul; Pracha Thamnusan; Mahidol UniversityPublication Metadata only Eliminative deoxygenation of substituted-α-halosulfoxides(1983-01-01) Vichai Reutrakul; Patcharin Poochaivatanon; Mahidol UniversityThe reaction of substituted-halosulfoxides with TiCl4-Zn in ether gave the corresponding phenyl vinyl sulfides in good yields. © 1983.Publication Metadata only Efficient synthesis of ningalin C(2002-08-08) Anucha Namsa-Aid; Somsak Ruchirawat; Mahidol University; Chulabhorn Research Institute(Matrix presented) A concise and efficient synthesis of the permethyl derivative of the marine alkaloid ningalin C (2) has been accomplished. The key step involves the formation of a pyrrolinone fron an aminoquinone in one pot. An efficient route for the synthesis of the key aminoquinone has also been developed.Publication Metadata only Model for the synthesis of cancentrine(1976-01-01) Somsak Ruchirawat; Vanida Somchitman; Mahidol UniversityPublication Metadata only Developments in cyclisation reactions(1990-01-01) C.
