Association between cardiopulmonary resuscitation audit results with in-situ simulation and in-hospital cardiac arrest outcomes and key performance indicators
    (2023-12-01) Ruangsomboon O.; Surabenjawongse U.; Jantataeme P.; Chawaruechai T.; Wangtawesap K.; Chakorn T.; Mahidol University
). Methods: This retrospective study was conducted by reviewing Siriraj Hospital’s CPR ISS results in association with the data of IHCA patients between January 2012 and January 2019. Actual outcomes were determined by patients’ outcomes (sustained return... of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and survival to hospital discharge) and arrest performance indicators (time-to-first-epinephrine and time-to-defibrillation). These outcomes were investigated for association with the ISS scores in multilevel regression models

Strengthening the capability of Family Health Leaders for sustainable community-based health promotion
(2005-07-01) Wanasara Chaoniyom; Nawarat Suwannapong; Nopporn Howteerakul; Oranut Pacheun; Mahidol University
The Family Health Leader (FHL) Project was initiated in 1997 to encourage self-care and health promotion. Since then, there has been no retraining. This study aimed to strengthen the FHLs' capability to sustain community-based health promotion... qualitative methodology was utilized to assess network establishment. The results indicate that the FHLs' knowledge of self-care and health promotion, ability, leadership and motivation had increased significantly after the intervention (p<0.001). The FHLs

Sustainable, affordable and functional: reimagining prosthetic liners in resource limited environments
(2020-01-01) Yusuke Miyata; Kazuhiko Sasaki; Gary Guerra; Jutima Rattanakoch; Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University
indicated that PTB-AERO (3604 ± 815) was not significantly different than PTB-PE-Lite (3386 ± 942). Mean SCS was 9.2 ±.83 and 7.2 ± 2.1 for PTB-AERO and PTB-PE-Lite. A 6.6% decrease in mean peak pressure was observed between PTB-PE-Lite and TSB-AERO, and 3....2% difference between PTB-PE-Lite and PTB-AERO. Conclusion: An affordable ($20 USD) and sustainably fabricated prosthesis liner was created and evaluated in trans-tibial prosthesis users. These initial results garner preliminary support for use of the AERO

Waist-to-height-ratio is associated with sustained hypertension in children and adolescents with high office blood pressure
    (2023-01-11) Nimkarn N.; Sewarit A.; Pirojsakul K.; Paksi W.; Chantarogh S.; Saisawat P.; Tangnararatchakit K.; Mahidol University
Background: Waist-to-height-ratio (WHtR) has been proposed as another indicator for cardiometabolic risk factors including hypertension. Normally, hypertension can be diagnosed in the office setting by detecting high blood pressure for three... occasions. However, patients with high office blood pressure may not exhibit high blood pressure outside the office. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is a procedure to measure blood pressure over 24-h. Sustained hypertension is characterized

Background: The aim of this study is to monitor the concept of ‘leaving no one behind’ in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to track the implications of the mobilization of health care resources by the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF..., the Mann-Whitney test, the Kruskal-Wallis test and health equity catchment indicators. SPSS ver. 18 and EndNote X8 were also used. Results: The findings show that the NHIF has mobilized HCCs according to coverage of the insured population. This mobilization

sustained vowels. Conclusion: The results of this study showed the differences between vocal function of females with benign vocal lesions and females with normal voices, using EGG parameters. Furthermore, EGG-SDF0 could be used as an indicator... with the perceptual degree of dysphonia. Material and Methods: EGG data were obtained from 32 females with benign vocal fold lesions and 32 females with normal voices. The EGG parameter values were analyzed from their productions of four sustained vowels (/a:/, /u

Stat3/IL-6 signaling mediates sustained pneumonia induced by Angiostrongylus cantonensis
    (2022-05-01) Zhou H.; Lu Y.; Wei H.; Chen Y.; Limpanon Y.; Dekumyoy P.; Huang P.; Shi P.; Lvid Z.; Mahidol University
. Our data indicated that, in nonpermissive host mouse, AC larvae migrated from intestinal wall to liver at 2 hours post-infection (hpi), from liver to lung at 4 hpi and then from lung to brain at 8 hpi. AC larval migration caused fatal lung injury... (pneumonia) during acute and early infection phases, along with significant activation of Stat3/IL-6 signaling. In addition, AC induce sustained interstitial pneumonia in mouse and rat and pulmonary fibrosis only in rat during late infection phase. Moreover

networks were enriched among the early and sustained infection biomarkers, indicating host-pathogen competition. The BRCA1/2 network was suppressed during infection, suggesting that cell proliferation suppression is a feature of Mtb survival. Our study... indicating clearance of Mtb infection in vitro. A comparative proteomic analysis was performed using GeLC MSI/MS. Intracellular and secreted proteomes from activated THP-1 cells infected with the Mtb H37Rv strain (MOI = 1) and treated with isoniazid
