Faculty of Public HealthThe purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing quality of life among street vendors in Bangkok. A total of 360 samples were used who were at aged 18 years old and over. Quality of life was measure by a brief WHO Quality of Life indicator in Thai (WHOQOL-BREF-THAI). Samples were selected by using multiple stage sampling. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson’s productmoment correlation and stepwise multiple linear regression. The study found that 78.9% were at a fair level of quality of life while 20.8% were at a good level. The factors that predict quality of life among street vendors are age, health insurance, health promoting behaviors, family relationships, relationships among fellow street vendors and the perception of policy on promoting informal labor, these six variables predicted for 67.10% of quality of life among street vendors. The findings from this study recommend that among street vendors, the administrators of Bangkok and relevant agencies should increase knowledge about health insurance and annual health check as well as self care. It should also promote relationships at both family and social level, publicize the policy on informal labor and promote the integration of the Informal labor network.
