Abstract
© 2017 IEEE. The number of students resigned from the university while they were studying has increased nowadays. One of the reasons is students could not match their real interests and preferences with skills need in each field of study. In addition, our preliminary survey, asking the open question about what is the necessary skill for doing business, showed that the high school students somehow do not have a good understanding in the meaning of skills and how these related to the study fields and leads to their future career. This study aimed to define personal skills from social media use behavior, in particular, Facebook feed contents. Facebook Graph API and Text Analytics API were used in order to identify terms from the feed contents and define related skills and fields by filtering those terms with predefined skills. The results showed that our methodology of analyzing data could identify the set of skills and the fields of study that related to social media user interests.
