This study shows the use of heat-cured bis-GMA-based resin to enhance the mechanical properties of three-dimensional printing (3DP) specimens by means of infiltration. It was observed that infiltration could decrease the porosity and increase flexural and compressive properties of the samples considerably. The degree of strengthening depended on the amount of initial binder in the as-fabricated green 3DP specimens. Decreasing initial binder content in the green specimens increased the efficiency of reinforcement. This is related to the amount of initial porosity in the green 3DP specimens and the amount of reinforcing infiltrant that can diffuse into the sample and fill the pores. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd.
