The major monoterpenes found in Vitex trifolia L. leaf oil were 1,8‐cineole, terpinyl acetate, sabinene and α‐pinene, whereas the major sesquiterpene was caryophyllene. In V. trifolia L. var. simplicifolia Cham, leaf oil the major monoterpenes were 1,8‐cineole, α‐pinene, terpinyl acetate and sabinene, but the sesquiterpenes identified in V. trifolia were completely absent in this oil.
