dc.description.abstract© 2019 Association for Computing Machinery. Blended learning is a combination of online learning and face-to-face meetings coupled with the self-regulated study. It has been gaining popularity in recent years among school and university students (Gen Z students). However, a number of challenges have been identified by STEM teachers whose age is over 35 years (Gen X teachers) which show that while students of this recent generation are ready to be exposed to online learning, their teachers are not quite ready to produce this learning system for them, based on our findings. So, if a blended-learning system is to be successful in school settings, it is important to overcome challenges that Gen X teachers may have held. A smooth transition is needed to make blended learning more effective and sustainable.en_US
