Household is indicated as one of groups that has high electricity consumption. To reduce electricity consumption in household is to change the behavior of the members of a household in the use of electricity. However, the changing in human behavior is not easy. The research suggests that strategies for behavior change will be more effective if we understand their normal behavior. Therefore, this paper explored the household members' behavior in the use of electricity and electric appliances in their everyday life. The participants were members of 315 households in the Industrial Estate Area, Chonburi Province where it has been indicated that the electricity consumption is rapidly increasing. The results indicated that the participant's behavior in the use of electricity reflected no or little concern for energy conservation. In addtion, participants had insufficient knowledge of effective ways to reduce electricity use and the use of electric appliances. © EuroJournals Publishing, Inc. 2012.en_US
