A clinical aspect of sperm antibody in infertile couples
During 1969 to 1972, investigations of sperm antibody were carried out in 422 couples of unexplained infertility as a routine procedure in an infertility clinic. Sperm agglutinating antibody was positive in 13.5%, sperm immobilization in 8% and poor sperm penetration of the cervical mucous in 35.7%. Autosperm agglutination antibody was encountered in 10.5% and should be considered significant provided the titer is very high. The use of a condom during intercourse by 36 couples with positive sperm agglutinating antibody until the titer dropped resulted in subsequent pregnancy in 7 cases.
