Recombinant DNA techniques as potential diagnostic means
Recombinant DNA techniques are providing new important tools in malaria research. Molecular cloning of Plasmodial repetitive DNA sequences have generated probes that are capable of distinguishing between different parasite isolates as well as identifying malaria infected blood and mosquito samples.
