Title
The Effects of Injectable Contraceptives on Lactation
Abstract
A study of the effects of DMPA injectable contraceptive on lactation is presented. Thirty DMPA treated mothers were compared to 25 control cases. The study showed that DMPA does not adversely affect the milk production, milk composition or breast fed babies themselves. On the contrary, this method tends to promote lactation. DMPA injectable contraceptive is therefore an appropriate method for use in lactating mothers. Copyright © 1972, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
