Abstract

In internationalization, networks push firms to initiate, enable, and sustain their processes in going global. They assist enhanced navigation to international markets through knowledge accumulation, and act as a critical asset in minimizing constraints, such as limited resources, information, and market insight. This expands the awareness of international opportunities and provides directions for methods on internationalization. This chapter explores the concept of networks, explaining its roles, particularly in the context of internationalization. This chapter also expands on how networks are utilized, with examples from several Asia-Pacific countries and four case firms from Thailand presented.
