Abstract
© 2019 IEEE. WSN or Wireless Sensor Network has gained more attention as one of the advanced technologies that enable users to promising elements of the Internet-of-Things (IoT). A sensor network is considered as cooperation of sensor nodes in gathering information from the target environment, and forwarding sensed data to the base station for further processing tasks. The top priority of designing a routing protocol is the system operated with low energy consumption, which energy on sensor nodes have non-rechargeable, so the energy of network has limited. In this paper, we studied energy-efficient routing techniques by analyzing different design parameters related to energy consumption. We proposed a new routing algorithm with improved the selection process for increased wireless sensor network lifetime, which protocol called ALEACH-Plus. We evaluated proposed protocols by using various performance metrics such as energy consumption, the first and the last dead node occurrence, and the amount of delivered data to base station. The author used a MATLAB program simulated the performance of our routing protocols that compared as cluster head based routing protocols which our proposed protocols better LEACH and ALEACH routing protocols in several aspects.
