Abstract
The purpose of this research was to survey the maintenance systems of medical equipment in four general hospitals in the central region of Thailand under the Ministry of Public Health using the criteria from the medical equipment maintenance standard that is the standard for administrative organizations, human resources, technical equipment, work places, suppliers and stores, maintenance, and quality assurance. The target population was 552 workers, consisting of 8 hospital administrators, 535 medical equipment users, and 9 medical equipment technicians, in four hospitals. The study shown the quality standards of medical equipment maintenance in Lop Buri hospital, Chai Nat hospital, and Phraphutthabat hospital were medium (P-value = 0.242, 0.087, and 0.798 respectively). Sing Buri hospital was high (P-value = 0.598). © 2011 IEEE.
