A treated case of aortic rupture from blunt trauma is reported. Widening of the superior mediastinal shadow was promptly investigated by aortography, which is the only diagnostic test and should be done as soon as the diagnosis of aortic rupture is suspected. Repair of the ruptured aorta should be performed as soon as possible.en_US
