dc.description.abstract | The Burkholderia pseudomallei quorum-sensing system (QSS), designated BpsIR, is encoded by five bpsR genes and three bpsI genes. This study investigated the roles and interactions of the QSS determinants in terms of gene regulation and protein interaction. We report two novel findings, that BpsR can function as an activator and a repressor for bpsI expression and that BpsR may form homodimers and heterodimers.
