The inescapable conclusion from our model is that on a countrywide basis, the most suitable technique of female interval sterilization from a cost benefit point of view at present for any nation simply is minilaparotomy. The technique is inexpensive, simple and easy to reproduce. Laparoscopy still has a place in the university hospital or selected rural regional teaching centers where the patient load is high and technical and financial support as well as extra surgical expertise are available. Finally, the diagnostic potentials of laparoscopy in gynecology still remain unchallenged.en_US
