Abstract
A new maleimide-bearing compound, farinomalein (1), was isolated from the entomopathogenic fungus Paecilomyces farinosus HF599. The structure was determined on the basis of spectroscopic analyses and chemical conversion. Compound 1 showed potent activity (5 μg/disk) against the plant pathogenic Phytophthora sojae P6497. © 2009 American Chemical Society and American Society of Pharmacognosy.
