Abstract
185 Thai men who underwent vasectomy at Ramathibodi Hospital from 1969 to 1973 were interviewed. The successful rate of vasectomy as contraception was 99.5%. All but one were pleased with the operation, and 98% of them had recommended it to the others. There were no serious side effects or significant changes in physical, mental health and sexual activities after the operation. Source of motivation was by word of mouth in nearly half of the cases. Campaigns on contraception should be stressed in newspapers and local radios because of the peoples' accessibility to the mass media.
