dc.description.abstract© 2017 IEEE. Medical imaging modalities generate medical images of a patient’s body to assist medical doctors to provide accurate medical diagnoses to the patient. Typical imaging interpretations are done by a board certified physician, called radiologist. When other physicians have questions on a given imaging report, they need to consult a radiologist for better understanding of a medical case. These physicians are not locate in the same location. They have to spend time moving from one location to another location to seek for a consultation from a radiology about images in question. It is a very time consuming process and inefficient use of resources. This project offers an app called “REMOTIMAGE” that offers an easy access to view medical images on smartphone and ordering medical images to be displayed on remote devices by using wireless and network programming technology. A time required for this method is just a few minutes as compare to ten of minutes or more. The application is developed by using JavaScript along with Ionic framework deployed on both Android and iOS devices. This app provides faster access to a patient’s medical images by obtaining a patient accession number from a barcode. In addition, the barcode feature can scan linear barcode or entering an IP address of a remote displaying in order to display images on the remote device.en_US
