A recombinant DNA probe, p BRK 1-14, was constructed by inserting a repetitive DNA fragment of 753 base pairs obtained from Plasmodium falciparum, isolate K1, into the EcoRI/Pst I cloning sites of p BR 322. This probe could discriminate between different parasite clones derived from a single isolate by hybridization with Southern genomic blots. © 1988 Oxford University Press.en_US
