Abstract
© 2018 IEEE. The world is moving toward the next industrial revolution - Industry 4.0; consequently manufacturing enterprises have to prepare for becoming smart factories. The development of information systems for manufacturing enterprises is a crucial approach to increase productivities and to gain competitive advantages. This paper presents system analysis and design of manufacturing information system employing radio frequency identification technology (RFID) for real time information tracking for plastic product manufacture. According to the analysis, the manufacturing information system is composed of master data and four main modules which are production, ordering, searching and tracking, and report. The practical framework and design of RFID in production process are proposed together with main challenges for implementing RFID. Furthermore, the test is conducted to confirm the feasibility of RFID application.
