A study was made of 2,897 neural neoplasms to determine the proportion of various tumors in Thailand and their relation to the age groups of the patient. About one-fourth of the tumors occur in children. Neoplasms of the peripheral nerve are the most common in the adults and in the group of all ages. Less in order of frequency in adults are intracranial neoplasms, intraspinal tumors, neoplasms of the paraganglionic tissue, tumors of the sympathetic ganglions, and miscellaneous neoplasms. In children, intracranial tumors are the most common, followed by neoplasms of the retinal primordium, tumors of the peripheral nerve, neoplasms of the sympathetic ganglions, intraspinal neoplasms, miscellaneous tumors, and neoplasms of the paraganglionic tissue. © 1974 American Academy of Neurology.en_US
