A case of definitely proven tuberculous thyroiditis is presented. The thyroid gland surprisingly was the only organ affected. Enlargement of the gland was the only complaint that made the patient seek medical advice. The diagnosis was made at pathological examination. Possible factors influencing the unsusceptibility of the gland to microorganisms are discussed.en_US
