Abstract
© 2018 IEEE. In recent years, Thailand has turned into an elderly ociety. To deal with this the Governme has created several National Elderly Plans over the years. The first National Elderly Plan (1982-2001) and the second National Elderly Plan (20022021) envision that 'Elderly people are the pillar of society', which means the elderly need to have a good quality of life, be valued andbe able to participate in the development of society. For elderly, to be the pillar of society, thefood, nutrition and activities are key factors that need to be controlled. The goal of this project is to design and implement a smartphone application running on Android platform, namely 'Elder Eat', which records the user's daily food consumption, after which it evaluates and reports the information based on which it offers recommendations and concerns about eating in the right way. Elder Eat is designed according to the information from the Nutrition Flag and the Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDG) for Thai elderly people who are aged between 60 and 80 yearsold and have a good health. The benefits of Elder Eat are firstly that the user will know whether their consumption behavior is good or not and secondly that recommendations are provided to the userto help them change their consumer behavior in a good way. Moreover, Elder Eat also provides information about the Nutrition Flag and the Food-Based Dietary Guidelines so the user can find information by themselves.
