Title
Preparation and agglutination of immuno-nanolatex for malaria diagnosis
Abstract
This is the first systematic study on the adsorption of malaria antigen onto latex particles to elaborate immuno-latex for diagnostic purpose. Immuno-latex was prepared from adsorption of malaria antigen onto polystyrene (PS) or poly(styrene-co-acrylic acid) (St/AA) latex particles and was used for detection of antibody to P. Falciparum based on agglutination test. Adsorption behavior of the malaria antigen onto polymer particles as a function of incubation time, antigen concentration, pH and concentration of the medium was studied. The prepared immuno-latexes were characterized in terms of immuno-agglutination and specific bridging using patient's plasma with P. Falciparum infection. This evaluation was performed using photon correlation spectroscopy. Copyright © 2009 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
